Wee Clachan (tryptich) – Lenny Lane

This set of 3 prints (triptych) is inspired by travels around Scotland’s highlands and islands. Small cottages, bothies and crofts dot the landscape, providing a sense of community and adding a unique kind of beauty to the mountains, heather-covered hills and lochs where they’re found.

About the Artist

Lenny’s work is predominantly reduction linocut printing. This approach uses one block and subsequent layers of colour – often several layers. He has been practising this method since he studied Graphic Design at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design, in Dundee. Themes in Lenny’s work are generally inspired by places he has been, or the natural environment, which is a constant source of influence. On occasion, such as the Artist’s Ranch Project, Lenny has taken source material from historical standpoints, and allowing his artistic license to wander. New works are forming all the time.
