Valentine – Sarah Stewart

“Valentine” is a beautifully executed silkscreen print by printmaker Sarah Stewart. The print is created entirely of “XOXO” letters originally typed on a Valentine typewriter, with the different coloured letters outlining the form of the typewriter itself. This print has been hand drawn and hand pulled on a screen printing press in Sarah’s home studio. It contains 6 layers of print in 4 different colours. With careful consideration of environmental ethics Sarah uses a waterbased system in the creation of her prints. Each print is individually signed and editioned by the artist. Due to the handmade nature of the printing process every print has slight variations making each unique.
