The Players – Liorah Tchiprout

£450.00

‘The Players’ is from a series of four Lithographs about the theatre. Using her handmade puppets as models, Liorah explores the roles we play in our lives, as if a part of theatrical performance.

Although Liorah is a highly trained printer herself, usually working in etching and monotype, this series is printed by master printer Catherine Ade. Working collaboratively at Catherines studio Lemonade Press in Bristol, Liorah drew on the stones and plates, and Catherine proofed and editioned them using her lithographic expertise.

This exciting project was funded by ‘The Printing Charity’s ‘Print Futures Award’.

About the Artist

Liorah Tchiprout is an artist and recent graduate based in London. Her work is concerned with belonging, girlhood and the theatrical. She builds physical puppet characters to construct her own pantheon from which to draw images. This methodology allows these characters to sit in between the real and the imagined, drawn from a reality that is constructed. Through it she builds a world which recentres the stories of women and girls – a world for them to liaise, interact, and plot in.
