Nr Shoeburyness – Simon Tozer

£120.00

This screen print of the Thames Estuary with decrepit but still charismatic World War Two Maunsell Forts: Shivering Sands, with Red Sands in the far distance. The clouds above are reminiscent of cloud identification charts, but also recall images of vapour and smoke from wartime conflict. This five colour screen print uses a blend of two colours in the sky which helps to give a sense of space, and is hand finished part way through the printing process with coloured pencil, as a hint of light in the water.
