About the Artist
Helen Taylor is a printmaker working in Lino and woodcut, often combining woodcut prints with hand-colouring in watercolour.
Taylor is inspired by the natural world, especially trees and plants, and the ways in which we influence and change our natural landscapes, the effects of human activity, the relationship between organic and built environments.
Her art explores the natural world of plants, and the amazing variety of colour and shape, the sheer diversity of what can grow in our own back gardens. Plants which are bred and live in ‘captivity’ a possible future for many plant species, and for our experience of them, certainly those which may not be able adapt to long term changes to their environment.
